The beginning of March signals the start of Spring Break here at Fort Myers Beach. Although there never seem to be a lack of visitors to this area, until now they’ve been snowbirds and families visiting family members here. This past weekend, the average age of the beachgoers just got much younger.
The photo above is Times Square as I passed through during my morning walk a couple of weeks ago. We won’t see it this quiet and vacant again the remainder of our time here!
It certainly helped that March 1 was a beautiful warm and sunny day. The beach was so busy yesterday. There were areas (particularly in front of Lani Kai) where it was difficult getting through the throngs of people.
I can’t resist including my photo of this street sign I pass by walking along Estero Blvd. It always gives me a chuckle, especially this time of year.
