Celebrating the 4th… in Canada…

Today is Independence Day. We are at Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island, (Ontario) Canada. We’re missing out on all the festivities and fireworks in the U.S. (and we missed out on Canada Day fireworks, too), but fortunate for us our good friends, Sandra and Rich Dirks aboard Trifid, sailed in this afternoon. Their 4th of July tradition involves Rich’s special recipe Bloody Mary to celebrate the holiday. Just our luck, we happened to be at the dock when they arrived and they invited us to join them. It was a festive afternoon catching up with good friends, as well as a delicious and refreshing Bloody Mary. Happy 4th of July!
