We left our anchorage at Portlock this morning and motored to Thessalon. There was no wind. Seas were glassy calm, skies were clear, and visibility was amazing: we had a clear view of both Drummond and Cockburn Islands on the horizon to our south. Of course, just after we arrived and tied to the dock (in time for the US vs. Germany game), a very pleasant breeze filled in out of the south. Oh well.
We are the solitary transient boat at Thessalon Marina this evening. It’s been a couple of seasons since we’ve last been here. On the up side, we were very pleased to discover that the marina now has free wifi. Perhaps it is because we are the only people using the wifi today, but it is very speedy–very unexpected in these parts. It was so nice not worrying about getting to the library or taking iPads to dinner with us.
